Packaging design for sustainable development
Most products require packaging to get from the point of production to the point of consumption. Packaging design affects thereby the social, economic, and environmental consequences of most processes in product life cycles.
We apply a holistic perspective on sustainable packaging design that means we consider the interrelation between packaging, products, logistical processes, consumers and waste management. Our research covers a broad area including, for example, the effect of packaging design on logistical efficiency, on the interaction between consumers and products as well as on product safety and security.
